Whoops, left the comment on the wrong entry. Anyway, I left my blog link here about buying and using a local natural turkey. It's the last two entries on my blog about 'bigbird'.

We just got our first CSA share from our farmer this week, and I blogged about the picnic we enjoyed using some of the things we got. :)

hi Shannon, thanks for your comment on my blog. You know I always love your 'food for thought'. The biggest difference in my diet lately has been the total elimination of sugar. I do love to bake so I have not been doing much of that these days. I don't miss it all all. I LOVE not having the craving after eating a meal for something sweet. Taking the place of that sugar is WAY more veggies. (organic). Some fruit but not a ton and more nuts and seeds. I have cut back on diary but not totally eliminated it. Now, when I do eat meat - it is only pastured meat. Grains - yes (let me think about that soaking and sprouting again - I know I should) Eggs, yes! that is why we have chickens now. I am struggling with chicken. It is weird for me to eat it since we got the chickens. although I saw a recipe picture the other day and it had chicken. It looked good. I can't call myself anything right now. I have always said I eat a whole foods diet. Now, more than ever I really am though. I feel like this is "my diet - my plan".

I don't know how you do it without grains. that would take a lot of will power for me. I do applaud your efforts. And, I think it is totally healthy to not eat grains and to eat grains.

great minds think a like : )

I do need to learn more about your supplements and such.

Ugh -- typo.

That was supposed to read "Hope that meets the guidelines", not "how..."

Hi Shannon,
I linked up my 5 favorite vegan recipes...how that meets the guidelines.

For me, eating (mostly) vegan is my first step to getting to my Food Roots. Now --thanks to you-- I'm starting to pay attention to WHERE my produce comes from.

We've started our seedlings for our vegetable garden, but this is something we've always done. A homegrown tomato always tastes better!
