Postcards : Everyday Stir-Fry Recipe and More

First, thank you all for your kind and gracious comments on my last post! Now onto an eclectic collection of what you’ll findaround here.

Everyday Stir-Fry: Fry up whatever canned meat and veggies you have on hand. In a pint jar, combine 1 T ACV, 2 T raw honey, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder, and a generous sprinkle of hot pepper flakes in a pint jar. Mix into 2 cups of broth with 1.5 Tablespoons tapioca starch. Add to skillet and cook until sauce is thickened.

We eat this at least twice a week.

Hannah, two-months old.

Saturday Cleaning: A reset to the week; a preparation for the Lord’s Day. Everyone participates in sweeping and scrubbing floors, hand-washing laundry, and washing all of those milk pots and jars. So grateful for this new weekly ritual and big helpers who help me catch up where I lagged behind all week.

Ferments: Spicy Everyday Carrot Sticks (in Traditionally Fermented Foods) and Curtido. Milk kefir, sourdough, and kombucha are also on the rotation.

New Bikes! Every school and chore break, every end of the day free time finds them all zooming up and down this dirt road.

***

Like many of you, we are expecting rain in the coming days and much cooler temperatures. So laundry will come off the line, roosters are hitting the chopping block, and those milk pots and jars will all need washing again today. And of course, math, phonics, writing, and snuggling sweet baby Hannah will make up at least half of our day.

What is happening in your neck of the woods?
